5 Great Ways to Find What eBay Buyers Want

Selling on eBay is one of the easiest and fastest ways anyone can make money from anywhere on the globe. Eventually you start to ask how you can make the most money for your time. Which means you want to know what people want to buy. I've listed 5 effective ways for you to find that out. So let's get started.

1. Manual Sort

This is one of the simplest ways. On eBay go to the "completed listings" button in the left hand menu. Then click "show items". To find items that sell for the highest prices sort by "highest price first". That will show you what's selling for the most money. The downside is eBay's search features have a tendency toward slow and hard to use. But there are easier faster options available. Read on.

2. Using Statistics

If you're one that likes numbers and charts, you may want to try eBay's "programming interface". This because eBay makes all their marketing data available this way. What it does is give you several options of programs that can take market stats from eBay and analyze them for you. There is quite a long list. Type "ebay analysis" into a search engine and they will come up for you.

An excellent company to try for statistical help is www.andale.com Their programs are not free, but they are reasonably priced. However, they do have a free “Counter” – it can help you track buyer traffic on your listings and encourage buyers to bid.

3. Fast Overview

One of eBay's best tools to give you a quick look at the 10 most popular searches and the top 5 largest eBay stores is http://pulse.ebay.com This is a quick check that will tell you what people are looking for today. It does change often, so keeping an eye on this listing is a good idea.

4. Hot Item Finder Simplifies the Research

By far the simplest and fastest tool I've found is David Guindon's Hot Item Finder. By generating the top 200 popular products on ‘ebay.com’ and ‘ebay.co.uk’ you find out what items to sell. It even has a feature that shows you the best words in the current hot item auction titles so you know how to draw buyers to your merchandise. 5. AuctionYen Uncovers Hidden Product Niches

Because you're looking for that niche to call your own, you'll want to check out eBay's 'Want It Now' section at http://pages.ebay.com/wantitnow/ In this section, buyers list what they want to buy so that sellers can send them to an active auction where they can get it. There are thousands of listings. You can do some fancy copy/paste activity to get it into a spreadsheet and try to sort it from there.

Since you’re probably very busy you may want to use software that will extract all that for you quickly and easily. It not only shows which items there is a lot of demand for, but whether or not sellers are responding to that demand. Which puts you in a great position to be the one selling that high demand/low competition product. Check it out at: http://www.auctionyen.com/video.php?v=1&a=1011

Try these ideas out and see what you think. I'm guessing you'll find them as profitable and helpful as I have. After a lot of reserch time on the Internet and many years of trial and error, I've come up with some great tips. Give them a try and see if you don't find them helpful too.
